It's Character Day! Here is a sneak peak at how some of our students and staff have characterized themselves as today.
Ms. Davis's students have been learning about our upcoming Presidential election and voting. They then had an opportunity to participate in their own vote for Class President. They chose between Clifford the Big Red Dog and Splat the Cat. Click on the pictures to see the winner!
Families are having a "Ball in the Fall" this week with the slime and painting activities. While the inclement weather may have kept families indoor earlier this week, it has been great to see families step away from "screen time" to engage in fun family activities.
Ms. Malinis's students worked hard this week on the letter of the week (Ee) and number of the week (9) by drawing elephants and writing the number 9. Great job, friends!
Mrs. Rowland's class engaged in a step-by-step drawing activity of Pete the Cat. Pete the Cat is a favorite book character among the students at Algonquin. Great job, friends!

As Ms. Davis's students are learning about elections and presidents, they are generating ideas for what they would do if they were President. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, friends!
Imagine our surprise to look out of the window today to discover snow falling! Ms. Malinis's students drew pictures of today's weather; thank you, Shamyra, for sharing your snow picture with us!
Ms. Malinis sure knows how to end her week on a FUN note! Today her students participated in a toy scavenger hunt. Great job, friends. We love seeing your smiles and your awesome toys.
When we are unable to take students on field trips...we bring the field trip experiences to us! Shout out to Ms. McLaughlin for inviting fire fighters into her virtual class so that the students could learn more about and engage with them! Thank you, fire fighters, for the courageous work you do!
Ms. Davis's students had a lot of Friday Fun today! Between a Skittles STEM experiment and a book about Spookley the Square Pumpkin, our students know just how "sweet" and "fun" learning can be! Great job, friends!
Kudos to Mrs. Rowland's students for their superb work today with paint bag letter writing, positional words with object placement, and practicing the number of the week: 8. We are so proud of you, friends.

Thank you to Mrs. Rowland's students for inviting me into their class this morning to read aloud "Never Let a Dinosaur Scribble." Afterwards, the students started with a scribble and turned it into awesome artwork. Great job, friends. It was so wonderful to see you today.
