Thank you parent's an staff for supporting our popcorn fundraiser as well as our March Madness basketball game. We had a great turnout and the students loved every moment of it. In the end Team Morris ran away with the victory!! Enjoy your weekend and again thank you all.

Here is a picture from Monday night's Village of PF Board Meeting to recognize the top 3 winners from the online vote for the Black History Month Writing Contest. Community members voted. 1st- Victoria Victor 2nd- Imani Brown 3rd- Brianna Weaver Our Makayla Arnold won 3rd place for the live presentation. 1st and 2nd place winners were high school students from Southland. Congratulations to our Barack Scholars!!

The 5th Grade Scholars at Barack are working on Shared Inquiry Discussions during their ELA classes. The scholars had rich conversations on their text. #pridedignityandrespect

Barack Scholars are prepared to tackle the IAR tests - March 20 - 31, 2023. We will have a Spirit Week the first week of testing. We want everyone to focus on completing tests successfully while demonstrating school spirit and PRIDE!!

Each of our scholars received books today to add to their home libraries. We participated in the Books Are Fun program! They are so excited to read!!

Today is International SEL Day. As a school we are focusing on Self Awareness and Relationship Skills with our school wide activity today. We are working on not putting people in boxes. When we put people in boxes, we limit who they are. We group them with some attribute that limits their humanity, their intrinsic greatness, their ability to deliver their special abilities to the world. We think that the world should look and act as we think it should because our version is right and theirs is wrong. This was a powerful lesson for our scholars today! #SELDAY
