Thank you to Mrs. Phelps and Barack Obama School of Leadership & STEM for hosting Mohawk's third grade students this morning for Step-Up Day! The students thoroughly enjoyed seeing their new school and interacting with other students and staff.
Mohawk's Science Fair, Part 2 of 2...All of our students (and teachers) did an outstanding job on their class (K-2) and individual (3rd grade) science fair projects. Congratulations to 74 Mohawk students whose families completed the "Golden Ticket" challenge for our fundraiser and earned prizes. Shout out to Charlotte, a 3rd grader and Julius, a 1st grader, who were the next two students to win a mini fridge stuffed with cash this week! We have ONE more mini-fridge stuff with cash, a $250 Amazon gift card, and many other prizes to still give away. Families have until May 4th to submit contact information for family/friends and collect donations.

Families: All students attended a PoP STEAM fundraiser kickoff assembly at Mohawk this afternoon. They will be bringing home the double-sided GOLDEN TICKET information sheet (which is also pictured and can be accessed via the links below) from school today. 3rd Grade Families: On Tuesday, April 25th, all 3rd grade students will have an opportunity to "step up" to 4th grade by visiting Barack Obama School of Leadership & STEM, touring the school, meeting 4th grade teachers, and learning more about where they will attend 4th grade for the 2023-2024 school year. Permission slips were sent home before spring break. We look forward to "stepping up" to the next grade level later this month.
Shout out to all of the families who completed the 5Essentials survey; we had over 215 students celebrate at our pizza, popcorn, and movie party this week!
Mrs. Hybert's kindergarten students are enjoying their fruits and vegetables that are delivered to Mohawk each week. They are trying new foods and expanding their pallets.
Kudos to Mrs. Hybert's kindergarten students for being rock stars in Guided Reading centers today! They are working hard and increasing their academic achievement levels each and every day.
